The Ministry of Finance has called on the public to disregard reports circulating in the media that its princpal, Zainab Ahmed said FG is working closely with Traditional and Religious leaders to educate their members on Child Spacing.
Media reports had quoted the minister as saying this on Tuesday at one of the sessions of the 24th Nigeria Economic Summit in Abuja.
According to the Ministry, the Minister was quoted out of context as she only harped on the need of child spacing which would be of benefit to the Nigerian economy.
The statement released on its official twitter platform reads “We urge the public to dismiss the statement attributed to the Minister of Finance, that FG will limit the number of children per-mother, her position was clear; to her, child spacing will allow the economy have a chance at growing well enough to cater for every child’s need”
According to the ministry, Page 95 of the Economic Growth and Recovery Plan
