Claudio Bravo Saves 3 Penalties To Send Chile To #ConfedCup2017 Final (Video)

Chile has sent Portugal out of the 2017 Confederation cup just like they did to Argentina in the 2016 Copa America.

The Juan Antonio Pizzi tutored side,  qualified for the final of this year’s Confederations Cup, after they defeated Portugal 3-0 on penalties in their semi-final clash on Wednesday night.

It was a breathtaking attack and staunch defence with Chile and Portugal failing to score over 120 minutes before Manchester City goal keeper, Claudio Bravo saved three penalties from Ricardo Quaresma, Joao Moutinho and Luis Nani to send the South American champions into the 2017 Confederation cup final.

Speaking on his exploits, Bravo said: “I was injured and I didn’t play at my normal pace, but I normally get things quietly,” Bravo said. “This is very important to us because it’s like completing a very successful cycle. We are very happy to be able to play in the final.”

Chilean coach, Juan Antonio Pizzi also praised his team for defeating Portugal to reach Sunday’s final in St. Petersburg.

In his words, “Claudio was amazing, the players who scored their penalties were amazing and I think we deserve to be in the final,” Pizzi said. “We have made a huge effort and I think you could see it during the game.”

Also speaking on the march, Portugal coach, Fernando Santos said: “I think it was an excellent game, a good propaganda for football, two excellent teams,” Santos said. “They both showed they wanted to win.”

Meanwhile, Chile will now play the winner between the other semi-final game between Germany and Mexico.
