Oyo State says it has discharged 10 more patients who have recovered from the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.
This was disclosed in a series of tweets by Governor Seyi Makinde on Wednesday.
According to him they were discharged after they tested negative twice, bringing the total number of recoveries in the state to 698.
The governor also confirmed 8 new cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing the total to 1380 cases.
“Ten confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged,” Makinde tweeted.
“This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 698.
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for eight suspected cases came back POSITIVE.
“The cases are from Lagelu (3), Ibadan North (2), Ibadan North West (1), Ido (1) and Ibadan South East (1) Local Govt Areas.
“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 1380.”
He urged residents to call the Emergency Operations Centre on 08095394000 | 08095863000 | 08078288999 | 08078288800, if they have any COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache, loss of smell/taste and shortness of breath.
