Former Senate President, David Mark, has picked his interest and nomination forms to contest the 2019 presidential election under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Mark will contend the PDP ticket with Senate President, Bukola Saraki, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto state; Rabiu Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano state, former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido; among others.
Reports say Mark had consulted the former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida; former President Olusegun Obasanjo; few state governors and other PDP stakeholders before his decision to join the race.
“I have a very good military background and has been in politics since 1998. I think I have got the credentials to be able to do what I have promised my team, He said on Tuesday.
Mark who has been the Senator representing Benue South for five terms was a former Military Governor of Niger State from 1984 to 1986 and Minister of Communications in 1987.
