Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries, Enugu, Father Ejike Mbaka, on Wednesday, said Nigeria’s Police were not involved in his disappearance.
Mbaka said he was kept incommunicado by the Bishop of Enugu dioceses, Callistus Valentine Onaga, who also ordered him not to engage in church activities for a month.
He said the church leadership told him to remain indoors for a period of one month to enable him pray and meditate over his activities.
The priest said he was only released because of the protest.
Meanwhile, supporters of the fiery Catholic preacher had gone on a rampage on Wednesday in protest, thinking he was Mbaka was arrested by the Department for State Services (DSS) for his recent criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari.
In his criticism, the fiery preacher called Buhari a failure, blaming him for the mounting security challenges in the country.
He asked the National Assembly to impeach Buhari if he refuses to resign.
Mbaka told his congregation on April 29, “How can people be dying and the chief security officer of the country would be sitting down without making any comment. Gunmen attacking people everywhere.”
“Buhari should have resigned honourably following his failure as a leader,” he added.
