Former Edo State Commissioner for Information, Kassim Afegbua has thrown his weight behind governorship candidate of the APC, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Ahead of the Edo 2020 governorship election slated for the the 19th of September, Afegbua said his decision is borne out of the poor performance of incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki.
He said while addressing journalists that he has decided to support Ize-Iyamu’s “simple agenda” as they promise a rich approach to governance.
Scoring Obaseki very lowly in governance and infrastructure, he said Edo State needs a breath of fresh air in its governance.
Afegbua said Ize-Iyamu’s manifesto will bring the much desired dividend of Democracy to Edo people.
While stating he remains a staunch supporter and member of the PDP, he said his support for the APC candidate is to see Edo State enjoy better leadership.
