EFCC Arrests Ex-Kwara Governor
Aledeh News reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the immediate past Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Sources revealed that the former governor has been under interrogation at the EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja since 10 am on Monday.
Ahmed on arriving at the anti-graft agency’s office spent seven hours writing statements in the interrogation room.
According to the source, he is being questioned by a crack team of operatives over the alleged diversion of N9 billion by his administration.
The money was alleged to have been diverted during Ahmed’s tenure as Governor of the state, and when he served as the Commissioner for Finance in the administration of former Governor Bukola Saraki.
Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, who confirmed the former governor responded to the Commission’s invitation, declined further comment.
