EFCC: Conduct Public Investigative Hearing Into The Recovered N15billion – CRAI Tells NASS

The Constitutional Rights and Peoples Development Advocacy Initiative (CRAI) has called on the National Assembly to ‘ immediately conduct a public investigative hearing into the N15billion recovered in a house on Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos as well as other such discovered and recovered funds alleged to belong to the public treasury’.

The group noted that the call ‘ is in line with the senate’s constitutional roles under Sections 88 and 89 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, as amended’.

The Constitutional Rights and Peoples Development Advocacy Initiative (CRAI) made this call in a statement issued by its lead advocate, Ikechukwu Ikeji.

The statement reads in part: “The Constitutional Rights and Peoples Development Advocacy Initiative (CRAI) makes the following statement:

“The intrigues surrounding recent discoveries and recovery of different huge sums of money in private homes and business places have become too complicated to be swept under the carpet of “investigation is ongoing”. Nigerians are worried and are eagerly waiting to hear the true stories behind these moneys.

“CRAI therefore calls on the Nigerian Senate or the House of Representatives to immediately conduct a public investigative hearing into the N15billion recovered in a house on Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos as well as other such discovered and recovered funds alleged to belong to the public treasury. This is in line with the senate’s constitutional roles under Sections 88 and 89 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria, as amended.

“Signed
Ikechukwu Ikeji, Esq.
Lead Advocate”.
