Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Northern Nigeria has called for urgent steps to put an end to the sense of fear and anxiety felt by citizens in the state and the nation at large.
El-Rufai during the presentation of the first Quarter Security report by the state Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs on Friday requested prompt operations to restore security.
The governor expressed concerns over the increase in kidnapping and banditry in the state and other parts of the country.
According to him, the bandits operating in the state are inching closer from rural communities to the cities, where they attack and kill innocent citizens with utmost boldness.
He stated that Nigerians are showing an increasing loss of confidence in the security agencies due to the rising numbers of attacks.
The governor, however, urged all citizens to exercise patience and support Security forces toward tackling the problem.
El-Rufai therefore, called for adequate funding of security agencies to enable them to execute better.
