Epe6: APC Councillor Calls For National Unity To Tackle Insecurity

Councillor representing Ward C Ifako, Gbagada, Araromi and Sholuyi, Honourable Ibraheem Bakare Olawale has commended the stakeholders involved in the recovery of the students of Government Model College, Epe, Lagos.

The students known as ‘Epe 6’ were kidnapped on May 25, 2017, two days to the annual ‘Children’s Day’ celebration. 

The six boys: Peter Jonah, Isiaq Rahmon, Adebayo George, Judah Agbausi, Pelumi Philips and Farouq Yusuf regained freedom on Friday, July 28.

Bakare noted that there is need for Nigerians to unite as one adding that the colaborative efforts of the six Western State Governors especially Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu who played a major role led to the recovery of the students.                                  

He said although the efforts of the Nigerian Police Force cannot be underrated but “the incident reminds us on the need to strengthen our security of lives and property”. 

Bakare congratulated the parents and reiterated the commitment of Lagos State Government in curbing the increasing crime rate in the State.
