Headline Inflation Rises In April

The National Bureau of Statistics has announced that the headline inflation rate for April has increased from March’s figures.

In the bureau’s latest release of inflation statistics, it said the month of April’s inflation was 11.37%, up 0.12% from 11.25% in March YoY. It is 0.94% MoM from 0.79% MoM in the same month. 


Food inflation increased to 13.70% from 13.45% in March while Core inflation dropped to 9.30% from March’s 9.50%.

On state profiles, Kebbi had the highest rise in inflation in the month under review on a Year on Year basis with 14.82% while Bauchi had the highest on a Month on Month basis with 2.10%.

Abia had the slowest rise in headline inflation year on year at 10.12% while Plateau had the highest month on month at 0.35%.
