I Am Still With PDP, I Only Attended Remi Tinubu’s Townhall Meeting – Obanikoro

Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro has denied media reports that he has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obanikoro cleared the air in series of tweets on Tuesday from  his Twitter handle

The report had said that Mr. Obanikoro announced his defection at a press conference in Lagos and was received to the APC by a former chieftain of the PDP, Lukman Ajose, who recently defected to the ruling party.

However, the PDP chieftain took to micro blogging site, Twitter to deny the report, adding that he only attended the townhall meeting of Remi Tinubu, the wife of APC national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Obaniko wrote: ” As a Constituent of Lagos Central Senatorial District, I today attended Sen. Remi Tinubu’s Townhall Meeting to support her good work..

” My attendance has been insinuated wrongly in the media but all such speculations remain firmly in the realm of rumours and imaginations.

” I commend Sen. Remi Tinubu once again as I continue to consult with my political associates and friends in Lagos, and also across Nigeria.

” Whatever the future holds politically for us, it will be openly done by us and seen by all but right now, please disregard those rumours”, Obanikoro added.
