Democratic Republic of Congo striker, Cedric Bakambu had completed a switch to Chinese Super League giants, Beijing Guoan from Spanish club, Villarreal.
Bakambu, who’s been a fans favourite with the Yellow Submarine found the Chinese offer too good to reject as he will be pocketing a whopping £307,000 weekly, a figure never thought in line with a player of Bakambu’s quality.
The Congolese striker completed a £65million move to the Chinese capital club and hopes to help them have a good season as he joins a legion of African players presently plying their trade in the most populated nation in the world.
Bakambu has beaten Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane, Manchester United’s Eric Bailly and Leicester City’s Algerian forward, Islam Slimani to emerge the most expensive African player of all time.
Bakambu, alongside his DR Congo teammates failed to help their country to their first World Cup appearance despite starting like a house on fire.
He was well loved at Villareal but when China money comes knocking and the opportunity to make the most of a career arises, even the black man doesn’t care if he’s a black man in China town.
