Just In: Ekiti NLC Protest Proposed Minimum Wage (Photos)

In line with the circular released by the National Labour Congress on Monday to stage a nationwide protest against the Federal Government’s proposed N24,000 minimum wage, members of the Ekiti state chapter have taken to the streets of the state to air their grievances and condemn the ‘government’s insensitivity to workers’

Prior to this the Congress had urged workers in the country not to be deterred by the government’s threat of “no work, no pay” as strike or protests were done in compliance with legal requirements.
The protest which occured at 8:00 am on Tuesday witnessed members of the NLC in Ekiti holding up placards in the state’s capital, Ado Ekiti to show disapproval on what they referred to as the negative ways workers are treated by the government .
