The Federal Government has directed all its staff on Grade Level 12 and below to stay at home for the next five weeks as part of efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19 as the nation battles a second wave.
The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 made the disclosure at its briefing on Monday.
“All government staff on GL.12 and below are to stay at home for the next 5 weeks; Permanent Secretaries and Chief Executives are to be held accountable for enforcing NPI rules in their domains with frequent spot checks,” it said.
The task force said it would work with the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, to implement aspects related to the Public Service.
It also announced new restrictions for nightclubs, bars, restaurants, among others.
