Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Southeast Nigeria, has sacked 20 Commissioners and dissolved the State Executive Council.
The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba disclosed this shortly after the State Executive Council Meeting in Owerri, the State capital on Wednesday.
Emelumba said the reason for the dissolution was to rearrange the activities of the state government after Uzodinma’s one year in office.
According to him, out of the 28 Commissioners, only eight were left to carry on with their activities.
The Commissioners left are Health, Information, Tourism, Women Affairs, Works, Finance, Youths, and the Ministry of Technology.
