The Kaduna State government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kajuru after fresh violence broke out in some parts of the local government.
There full details of the violence are still yet to be ascertained but the state government has taken a step to quash the problem.
Samuel Aruwan, spokesman to the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai made the imposition of the curfew known on his Facebook page.
“Following events in Kasuwan Magani, the dusk to dawn curfew that has been in place in Kajuru LGA had been extended to 24-hours in the entire local government area. The 24-hour curfew in the entire Kajuru LGA is with immediate effect, and will be enforced until further notice,” Aruwan wrote.
Recall there have been almost incessant violence recorded in Kajuru with many people killed in the attacks.
Just recently, a British aid worker of Mercy Corps, Lagos was killed alongside her partner from Nigeria at a party in Kajuru. Some individuals were also kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
