Nigeria Records 454 New COVID-19 Cases As Toll Rises To 27,564, Total Deaths Now 628

Nigeria has recorded 454 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the confirmation late Friday night.

In its daily update, it said 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported new cases on Friday.

The centre disclosed that 268 patients were discharged after their recovery from the disease.

However, 12 new deaths were also recorded across the country.


According to NCDC, Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 87.

Also, Edo recorded 63 new cases, while the FCT recorded 60 new cases.

Others are Ondo-41, Benue-32, Abia-31, Ogun-29, Oyo-19, Kaduna-17, Delta-16, Enugu-15, Borno-14, Plateau-9, Nasarawa-8, Kano-5, Bauchi-4, Gombe-2, Katsina-1, ans Kogi-1.

A total of 27,564 cases of COVID-19 has been recorded since the index case was confirmed on February 27, 2020.

While 11,069 patients have been discharged, a total of 628 have died.
