Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise To 31,323 With 575 New Infections, Deaths Now 709

Nigeria has recorded 575 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, bringing the total to 31,323.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the announcement in its daily update late Friday night.

According to the centre, 249 patients were discharged on Friday following their recovery while 20 new deaths were recorded.

18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases.

With 224 new cases, Lagos recorded the highest daily toll.

Oyo recorded 85 new cases while FCT recorded 68.

Others are Rivers-49; Kaduna-39; Edo-31; Enugu-30; Delta-11; Niger-10; Katsina-9; Ebonyi-5; Gombe-3; Jigawa-3; Plateau-2; Nassarawa-2; Borno-2; Kano-1; and Abia-1.

So far, a total of 12, 796 patients have recovered while 709 have lost their lives to the disease.
