The Lagos State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, says it will be organizing a two-week health programme for journalists.
The health programme will hold from Monday, March 12 to March 23, 2018, at the NUJ Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, a statement by Yinka Adelowore, Secretary, NUJ Health Committee said.
The health screening will cover clinical breast examination, cervical cancer screening using a visual inspection acetic acid solution method. It will also cover eye check and collection of glasses, screening for hypertension and diabetes for one thousand naira, (N1000.00) only.
The statement said the first one hundred persons to access the services will go home with free breast examination device to help during self-breast screening.
Adelowore said any patient with a suspected case of breast or cervical cancer will be referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH for follow up.
