The Lagos State government has shut down the Agege Central Mosque on Thursday after worshippers attacked the Lagos State Task Force on COVID-19.
Officials of the Task Force had gone to the mosque during Eshai prayers on Tuesday , with over 300 worshippers in the mosque.
The gathering was against the state’s rules which says no more than 25 people should be in a gathering at a time. This is to curb the spread of COVID-19.
According to the Task Force, worshippers attacked the officials when they came around to disperse the gathering.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile on Thursday, revealed the decision of the state government to shit down the mosque.
He said the mosque was disinfected after being shut.
