Manchester United confirmed on Saturday morning, July 8,  that they have agreed a deal with Everton for the transfer of striker Romelu Lukaku.

The 24-year-old Belgian will make the switch from Goodison Park to Old Trafford and join up with his former manager, Jose Mourinho.

Confirming the transfer, United tweeted: “MUFC is delighted to announce a fee has been agreed with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku, subject to a medical & personal terms”, the short statement added.

The Old Trafford club also disclosed that they will make a further announcement in due course in a deal which is believed to be in the region of £75million for the forward, who was also wanted by reigning champions Chelsea.

According to a report  by Sportsmail Conte was unwilling to give up on his main target, though Chelsea refused to pay what is thought to be an eight-figure fee, believed to be £12m, to Lukaku’s agent Mino Raiola, which is a key part of the United package.
