A Batch ‘C’ corps member in Nasarawa state, Pascaline Madueke, met her demise while serving her fatherland.
Pascaline was said to have been killed by a Medical Doctor, James Negedu, in the Lafia area of Nasarawa State.
The deceased who was serving in Adogi, Lafia East development area of the state lost her life following a surgical operation at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia.
James Negedu, a medical doctor, has been remanded in the Lafia prison following Pascaline’s death.
Prior to the incident, the deceased had complained of headache, abdominal pain and malaria and was rushed to a private clinic for treatment, before she was referred to a specialist hospital where she was confirmed dead.
Speaking on Pascaline’s death, Negedu disclosed that the victim’s uncle, one Mr Ndubuisi escorted her to the clinic on the 8th of January, revealing that the deceased complained of headache, abdominal pain, typhoid, malaria, and general body pain.
The doctor disclosed that tests were carried out on the victim and later given some drugs.
In addition, he stated that her condition grew worse as a scan carried out to ascertain what was amiss, revealed that she had a pelvic inflammatory disease, as well as a five-month-old dead foetus in her womb.
He said, “After the scan was carried out, I discovered that the deceased didn’t tell me that she was pregnant. I referred her to the DASH (Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital) with a note containing the details of the incident.
“Pascaline was operated at the gynecology and obstetrics department of the DASH, but she died the following day.”
