Nigeria Records 460 New Cases Of COVID-19 As Toll Hits 30,249, Deaths Now 684

Nigeria has recorded 460 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the disclosure late Wednesday night.

The centre also announced 265 new recoveries but 15 new deaths were recorded on Wednesday.

20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases.

While Lagos recorded the day’s highest toll with 150, Rivers recorded 49 new cases.

Oyo also recorded 43 new cases with Delta recording 38 new cases.

Others are FCT (26); Anambra (20); Kano (20); Plateau (18); Edo (14); Bayelsa (13); Enugu (13); Osun (12); Kwara (10); Borno (8); Ogun (7); Kaduna (6); Imo (4); Bauchi (3); Gombe (3); Niger (2); and Adamawa (1).

Since the index case was confirmed on February 27, 2020, Nigeria has recorded 30,249 cases of the disease.

While 12, 373 cases have been discharged after their recovery, a total of 684 fatalities have been recorded.
