Nigeria Records 544 New COVID-19 Cases As Toll Rises To 28,711, Total Deaths Now 645

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night announced 544 new COVID-19 infections, which takes the total confirmed cases in the country to 28,711.

According to the NCDC’s report, the fresh cases were recorded in 18 states of the federation and FCT.

It added that 11 persons died of COVID-19 complications while 203 persons were discharged the same day.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis shows that Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with 199 infections.

Others: Ebonyi(65),Oyo(47), Ondo(46), Ogun(31), Edo(30), FCT(28), Katsina(25), Plateau(15), Bayelsa(11), Kaduna(10), Adamawa(10), Akwa Ibom (8), Gombe(7), Kano(4), Taraba(3), Rivers(2), Abia(2) and Ekiti(1).

As of July 5th, 2020, Nigeria has recorded 28,711 COVID-19 cases; 11,665 recoveries and 645 deaths.
