Nigeria Records 576 New Cases Of COVID-19 As Infections Toll 37,801, Deaths Now 805

Nigeria has recorded 576 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the disclosure late Tuesday night.

The centre also announced 344 recoveries but 4 new deaths were recorded.

21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases on Tuesday.

Lagos recorded the day’s highest toll with 88 while Kwara recorded 87 new cases.

FCT also recorded 82 new cases with Plateau recording 62 new cases.

Others are Ondo-39; Enugu-28; Oyo-26; Taraba-24; Kaduna-20; Ebonyi-20; Edo-17; Cross River-16; Kano-14; Rivers-11; Ogun-10; Delta-9; Nasarawa-8; Osun-8; Katsina-3; Imo-2; Kebbi-1; and Borno-1.

Since the index case was confirmed on February 27, 2020, Nigeria has recorded 37,801 cases of the disease.

While 15,677 cases have been discharged after their recovery, a total of 805 fatalities have been recorded.
