Nigeria Records 595 New COVID-19 Cases As Pandemic Tolls 33, 153, Deaths Now 744

Nigeria has recorded 595 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the disclosure late Monday night.

The centre also announced 224 recoveries but 4 new deaths were recorded.

19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases.

While Lagos recorded the day’s highest toll with 156, Oyo recorded 141 new cases.

FCT also recorded 99 new cases with Edo recording 47 new cases.

Others are Kaduna (27), Ondo (22), Rivers (20), Osun (17), Imo (13), Plateau (10), Nasarawa (8), Anambra (8), Kano (5), Benue (5), Borno (5), Ogun (4), Taraba (3), Gombe (3), Kebbi (1), and Cross River (1).

Since the index case was confirmed on February 27, 2020, Nigeria has recorded 33, 153 cases of the disease.

While 13, 671 cases have been discharged after their recovery, a total of 744 fatalities have been recorded.
