Nigerian Dancer and Choreographer, Kafayat Shafau, better known as Kaffy, has announced the passing away of her mother.
She was aged 82.
Kaffy made the disclosure via her Instagram page on Monday.
However, the choreographer, who spoke to ALEDEH, did not disclose the cause of her mother’s death.
“Mama has gone to Rest! #82,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a video of her late mother dancing.
In another post on Tuesday morning, the 39-year-old dancer thanked everyone who sent in their prayers.
“On behalf of my family, I want to say THANK YOU for all your well wishes and prayers. God shall fulfill the number of your days,” she wrote.
Kaffy, a dance instructor, is the founder and owner of Imagneto Dance Company.
She is best known for breaking the Guinness World Record for “Longest Dance Party” at the Nokia Silverbird Danceathon in 2006.
