Kate Anolue, a Nigerian woman from Anambra State has been elected Mayor of the Enfield Council in London.
She is a trained midwife of vast experience and hails from Nanka, in Anambra state.
Anolue is a widow with four children. She was first elected a Councillor representing upper Edmonton in 2002. She is a member of the labour party, on whose platform she’s been contesting her elective positions.
She was the deputy mayor to the outgoing mayor Christiana During and was at the Royal college of midwives steward for North Middlesex University Hospital midwives.
Anolue is also a panel member of health scrutiny, member racial equality council Enfield, woman officer for labour Party and Vice president association of women Councillors British Nigeria.
