Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise To 43,151 With 462 New Cases, Deaths Now 879

Nigeria has now recorded a total of 43,151 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

This was confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update Friday night.

While announcing 462 new cases of the disease, the centre also announced the discharge of 295 patients following their recovery.

However, a death was recorded on Friday.

15 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases.

Again, the FCT led with 93 new cases followed by Lagos, the epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria, with 78 new cases.

While Plateau recorded 64 cases, Kaduna recorded 54.

Others are Oyo-47; Ondo-32; Adamawa-23; Bauchi-19; Rivers-9; Ogun-9; Delta-9; Edo-7; Kano-6; Enugu-6; Nasarawa-5; and Osun-1.

So far, a total of 19,565 cases have been successfully treated for the disease.

With 879 fatalities recorded, there are now 22,707 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.
