Ogun East Senatorial Election Declared Inconclusive

Senatorial election in Ogun East has been declared inconclusive.

At the conclusion of collation of results from the nine local government areas in the senatorial district, the APC had a total of 84,929 votes, while the PDP polled 82,457 votes.

However, there was a chaotic reaction from the party agents after announcement of results by Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Chris Nwoka.

Nwoka was about declaring the APC senatorial candidate, Senator Mustapha Olalekan, the winner over his closest rival, Sosanwo Ayoola of the PDP when trouble ensued.

Results were cancelled in Ward 10, Ajebandele, in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of the state.

The total number of voters in the ward exceeded the difference between the APC and PDP.

The issue is however expected to be resolved at Abeokuta where the final broadsheets has been taken to.
