PUNCH reports that the lawmaker alleged that the manager of the hotel, Loveday Odinachi, was the first victim of the security operatives as he was mercilessly beaten.

Mafe disclosed that when he heard the banging of doors and distressed voice of Odinachi, he approached the security operatives and introduced himself as the majority leader of the House of Assembly. He added that one of the operatives hit him with his weapon, collected his phone and smashed it on the floor.

The lawmaker who challenged the police to take him to court if they have any case against him disclosed that he would be demanding N250 million for damages, alleging that the operatives searched the hotel rooms and vandalized properties.

The state Police Public Relations officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi however stated that he was not aware of the alleged attack on the lawmaker.

Meanwhile, he disclosed that about 30 suspects have been arrested in connection with the face-off between the police and some youths in Sagamu on Tuesday.
