Solomon Okopi, a man whose unwaivering passion for agriculture has seen him travel far, and wide has added yet another feather to his glamorous cap.
Okopi, an Agripreneur, who is into livestock, and cash crops productions has been rewarded for his exemplary contributions to agriculture in Nigeria.
At a period when food security, and availability is in a critical condition in Nigeria, Okopi has stood out for innovative contributions to the development of the agriculture sector in Nigeria.
In a statement by the Joint Action Coalition of Civil Society Organisations in Nigeria (JACCSON), it confirmed that Okopi will be decorated, and presented with the Icon of Greater Nigeria on the 3rd of December.
In its stamement, the group said; ”After the Last quarter round table conference of The Joint Action Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria (JACCSON) a coalition of 12 civil societies in Nigeria. Mr. Solomon Okopi emerged as the winner of our 2018 Icon of Greater Nigeria Award in the Agricultural Revolution category.”
The statement signed by Dr. Kabiru Dallah, Chairman Award committee said the award is in consideration of his immense contribution to Agricultural, Community and youth development in Nigeria.
The award to the well read Okopi is also in a bid to encourage the Petroleum expert to do more and serve as a role model for Nigerians and young entrepreneur.
The decoration and presentation of the award will hold in Jos, Plateau State capital.
Okopi holds a Bachelors of Engineering(B.Eng) degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
He has two Masters degrees in Human Resource Management, and Business Administration, from the Universities of Bedfordshire, and Edinburgh respectively.
He is the Vice President, Commercial and Operations of the Petroleum Projects International, and has a great drive to see Nigeria better placed in its agriculture.
