Ondo Robbery Attack: Court Remands 6 Suspects

A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State capital, has remanded six persons for their alleged involvement in a robbery attack on a branch of First Bank Plc at Ido Ani in Ose Local Government Area of the state.

The accused persons arraigned by the state police command include –Isah Yusuf, Joseph Abuse, Idris Abdullahi, Philip Achem, Odey Fancy, and Peter Ufomadu.

Olawoye Ezekiel, the police prosecutor, said the accused persons were on Wednesday, April 24, arraigned on seven counts bordering on murder, illegal possession of firearms and stealing.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Victoria Bob-Manuel, after listening to arguments from both the prosecuting and defence counsels, ordered the accused persons to be remanded in police custody, pending the advice from the office of state Director of Public Prosecution.

She adjourned the case till Thursday, May 2, 2019.
