One Dead As NULGE, NDLEA Officials Clash In Agege

Hell was let loose on Tuesday, April 24, when a member of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE was stabbed to death by an official of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

The Staff, simply identified as Samuel Koro-toe was stabbed in the  incident which happened at the secretariat of Agege Local Government Area.

Late Okoro-toe, an activist, was at the Council for the ongoing celebration of the 40 years anniversary of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, across the country.

Some NDLEA officers, who have office in the council reportedly fired several shots into the air after getting heavily drunk.

Their action was said to have been met with frowns from the Council’s staff, particularly NULGE Excos, who protested against the act.

The NULGE officials’ complaints met a violent reaction from the NDLEA officers and they went overboard shooting sporadically and stabbing Koro-toe with matchet.

The said activist was pronouced dead on the scene while the perpetrator took to his heels but his colleagues were arrested by the police whose arrival averted a retaliation from the NULGE staff.
