Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has revealed that only 30-50% of the actual capacity will be taken when domestic flights resume.
Sirika, responding to questions from journalists on Monday during the PTF Press briefing said the middle seats will be freed and the total passenger load will be reduced to about half the actual size.
“We’d block the middle seats. The load factor will drop and maybe 30-50% will be taken. We are looking at how best we can take advantage and give the service.”
On revenue loss, he said they have lost a lot during the period but will adjust prices to reflect current realities in the most accommodating way.
“Airfare will be appropriate with the conditions and issues at hand for sure. We’ve been interacting with industry players so the economy will continue to grow. I’m sure you know the centrality of the Aviation sector in GDP effects,” Sirika said.
