The Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT will deliver its judgement on suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen on Thursday, 18th April.
Danladi Umar, Chairman of the tribunal made the announcement on Monday, after prosecution and defence counsels adopted their written addresses.
There was a mild fiasco at the tribunal after the FG’s attorneys argued over an incident.
Aliyu Umar, the FG’s lead counsel applied that the name of another counsel, Zainab Duke be removed from appearance.
This ensued after Duke asked to make an observation, to the chagrin of Umar who ordered her to sit down, and further led into an argument.
The Police officer in the tribunal tried to hand the microphone to Duke but Umar snatched the microphone and told the tribunal Chairman that;
“She wants to address the tribunal but I have not given her permission to do that.”
Duke stood up to explain her observation to the CCT Chairman but she was not audible enough.
On application for her removal from appearance, the CCT Chairman asked Duke to “take her leave or take her seat at the back bench.”
Recall that Onnoghen is standing trial for a six-count charge of false declaration of assets.
