The Police have arraigned a man, Sulaimon Quadri in a Badagry Magistrate Court following his assault of an official of the Eko Electricity Distribution.
Quadri assaulted and physically harmed an unarmed field representative of the Eko Disco, Marcus Adeyemi.
He (Quadri) was arraigned on two counts of breach of public peace and unlawful assault, which are punishable under Section 166 and 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The Eko Disco produced a medical report as an evidence of the injury inflicted on its official by Quadri. The medical report showed that Adeyemi sustained a ruptured tendon in his hand following a deep cut but had since received quick medical attention.
The culprit pleaded not guilty to the two counts before the Badagry Magistrate but received an N100,000 bail with a surety in like sum. In addition, the surety has to be resident in Badagry.
The case was however adjourned to the 26th of August for mention.
Recall that the EKEDC promised to pursue the case to the end, within the provisions of the law, in order to serve as a deterrent to others of Quadri’s type.
