Pre-Ramadan Lecture: Muslim Parenting -How Involved Are We?


As Muslims around the world anticipate the arrival of holy month of Ramadan, Peace Estate Muslim Community,Baruwa Ipaja, Lagos is set to hold its first Pre-Ramadan lecture on Sunday May 14, 2017.

The Pre-Ramadan lecture is aimed at awakening the consciousness of Muslims towards raising children into responsible Muslim adults, an official said.

Residents of Ipaja will experience a soul nourishing lecture as the event will also commemorate May 27 Children’s Day with the theme “Muslim parenting -How involved are we?”

Author of Islam And Politics In Nigeria, Professor Abdul Lateef Adetona of Department of Islamic and Arabic studies, Lagos State University is the guest lecturer.

A member of the planning committee however urged Muslim parents to strengthen their relationship with their children adding that Prophet Muhammad said, “Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock.  The ruler is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.  A man is the shepherd of his family and is responsible for his flock.  A woman is the shepherd of her husband’s household and is responsible for her flock”.
