President Buhari Approves Immediate Treatment Of Alex Ekwueme Abroad

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the immediate medical treatment of former Nigeria’s Vice President at the Second Republic, Dr. Alex Ekwueme.

ALEDEH recalls that Dr. Ekwueme collapsed last week Saturday around 2:00 am in his house at Independence Layout, Enugu, Southern Nigeria.

Ekwueme, who was Nigeria’s Vice President between 1979 and 1983 was said to have collapsed while trying to pick something from the table.

He was admitted to the Memphys Hospital in its Intensive Care Unit at the Neurosurgery section of the hospital which is by Penok Petrol Station in Trans-Ekulu, Enugu State, Southern Nigeria.

Six (6) days after the sad development, President Buhari has approved Ekwueme’s treatment outside the country.

The official Twitter handle of the Presidency, disclosed this on Friday evening, November 3.

The Presidency tweeted: ” President @MBuhari has approved the immediate medical treatment of former Vice-President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, outside Nigeria.

“The approval covers the immediate charter of an Air Ambulance for the emergency movement and the cost of treatment.

“President @MBuhari prays that God will grant the elder statesman speedy recovery”, the handle added.

Meanwhile, the sad development is coming after the former Second Republic Vice President celebrated his 85th birthday.
