A three-storey building under construction has collapsed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Friday leaving some people injured and some others trapped.
The structure was located at Shogoye Bus Stop area, Bode community in the city.
The building was said to have collapsed around 5:54 pm while bricklayers and other artisans on site were rounding off for the day’s work.
Nobody has been confirmed dead as at the time of filing this report but rescue efforts are still ongoing.
Four of those who were trapped in the rubble were already rescued by men of the state fire service and volunteer rescuers.
The Oyo State Government says it has deployed two excavators to the location, where efforts are ongoing to rescue victims trapped under the collapsed building.
Oyo State Government Commissioner for Information, Toye Arulogun , said the government was on top of the situation.
Arulogun said, “We have deployed two excavators there . Our officials are right there now , to rescue trapped victims. There is no cause for alarm.”
This has come barely 72 hours after a three-storeyed building collapsed in Ita Faji area, Lagos Island of Lagos State.
