Sultan Declares Thursday As Eid-El-Fitr

…Urges Muslims To Pray For Nigeria

Sultan of Sokoto and President General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has declared Thursday, 13 May 2021 as Eid-El-Fitr day (the first day of Shawwal 1442AH).

The Sultan made this known in a Press Release signed by the Chairman, Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Prof, Sambo Junaidu on Tuesday.

According to the Release, the National Moon Sighting Committee across the country did not send any report to the Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to confirm the sighting of the New Moon which means Wednesday, 12 May 2021 is the 30th day of the month of Ramadan 1442AH.

Abubakar, while facilitating with Nigerian Muslims, “wishes them Allah’s guidance and blessings” and urged them to continue to pray for the peace, progress, and development of the country.
