It was a tensioned game at Old Trafford when Manchester United filed out against their noisy neighbours, Manchester City.
The Citizens were in their usual brightness, dominating possession and playing a crisp, expansive attacking football. The game ended 2-1 in favour of the visitors after goals from David Silva and Otamendi ensured the City team won their 14th successive Premier League game.
After the game, the players and staffs of both teams got involved in an altercation that got the police officers looking on and amazed at the melee that ensued at the tunnel.
According to Skysports, City’s goalkeeper, Ederson confronted Mourinho after the Portuguese gave a vexatious reaction to the celebrations of Manchester City players. The fracas that ensued got Mourinho drained with milk and water while he also got hit with a plastic bottle as City’s assistant coach, Mikel Arteta reportedly bled from the head.
“I think they are a very good team, I think they are lucky, I think [they] have all the decisions in their favour, probably yes.”
“But Tuesday is another day in our Premier League, and I am sure all of us, everyone is going to fight for points and try to reduce the distance, which is the normal thing in the championship but of course the advantage is a very good one.” Mourinho said after the game.
Manchester City’s victory ensured they are sitting eleven(11) points ahead of closest rivals, Manchester United who are placed second on the log as their mind blowing, attacking football has earned them plaudits all through the season.
