Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh has been selected as Ambassador For United Nations Rescue Services.
She was unveiled at the UN’s Humanitarian and Rescue office on Wednesday.
The UN appointment comes just weeks after some sections of the media alleged that she was appointed as an ambassador for peacebuilding by the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC).
Although, the report has since been denied by the Christian commission after widespread criticism.
The 35-year-old actress took to her Instagram page to announce her new win and shared pictures of the moment, which includes one which showed when she received a UN award plaque, an ambassadorial sash and an official number plate for the new position.
“I was just honoured as a United Nations Noble International Ambassador for the United Nations Rescue Services,” she captioned the pictures.
