Trump’s Acting Homeland Secretary Steps Down

U.S President, Donald Trump has announced that his Acting Homeland Security Secretary, Kevin McAleenan has stepped down from his position.

Trump had appointed McAleenan following the resignation of Kirstjen Nielsen.

In a tweet on Friday, Trump wrote: “Kevin McAleenan has done an outstanding job as Acting Secretary of Homeland Security. We have worked well together with Border Crossings being way down.

“Kevin now, after many years in Government, wants to spend more time with his family and go to the private sector. “Congratulations Kevin, on a job well done!”

He further noted that a new Acting Secretary would be announced next week.

“I will be announcing the new Acting Secretary next week. Many wonderful candidates!,” he added in the tweet.
