Nigerian United States-based singer, Oriri Osayomore, simply known as “Oriri” has released yet another beautiful song to the listening ears of music fans.
California based musician Oriri “oririmusic” returns with a new dancehall song “One Woman“, this is following his last two releases “take control” 2016 and “leave us alone” in 2017. Oriri will also be playing some venues in Los Angeles with his Afro-beat/indieRock band Oriri and the Soul house crew this summer.
With “One Woman“, Oriri maintains his clever selection of relevant song topics and also bring fans a catchy melodic rhythm played on synth harp; supported with intermittent electric guitar riffs. In what looks like a deliberate move into the pop genre, Oriri employed the usual simple and relatable music elements his fans have loved since his mega hit “Sisi Eko” debuted in 2005. The self produced track sung in Pidgin English explores the topic of exclusivity in a romantic relationship from a man’s point of view “if you no fit love one woman you no go fit Love two” find you one beautiful woman and satisfy her everyday”, Oriri echoes in his trade mark Afro-Centric mellow vocals.
Oriri also attempts to explain the inspiration for the song in a statement. “It’s been a hot topic for debate whenever the question of pursuing romantic relationship with two people at the same time arises” he explains further that “When a man commits to a woman there is almost limitless opportunities to enjoy a loving relationship with that one woman”. Making a case for sticking it out through the sweet and not so sweet times in a relationship he said “With every “I love you’, every date night, the moving into the dream house, the kids arriving and all the mile stones; an exclusive relationships should get better with time” he goes on explaining the paradox of giving up on one bad relationship with hopes of succeeding in a new one “if your relationship is failing, you do everything to fix it because of the progress you have made; beginning another one on the side doesn’t help much”.
