No fewer than thirteen (13) people died and about thirty two (32) injured after five bombs went off within the security office and the University of Maiduguri environment on Sunday night, June 25, ALEDEH can report.
ALEDEH gathered from a reliable source that the bombs which exploded between 10:30 and 11:30pm, injured eight (8) children and twenty four (24) adults.
While one suicide bomber died at the spot, the other was arrested and handed over to police Community Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno state.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of Police in Borno State, Victor Isuku, says only two people died from the attack at the University of Maiduguri on Eid-el-Fitr night.
Isuku gave this information on the Borno Police WhatsApp group, where he added that he was at the scene of the incident at about 12:05 a.m. today, Monday, June 26.
According to him, “At UNIMAID only one male suicide bomber died. Three university security personnel were injured. One later died.”
