An unnamed fan of the Yankees, the United States national football team was seen displaying his anger at the team’s inability to pick up a spot at the next World Cup in Russia scheduled for 2018.
The fan who was really bitter from his utterances was displeased and left befuddled as to why the United States of America, a nation of 330 million people could not pick 11 players to book a place in the World Cup. The United States were pipped to the second slot for North American teams by neighbours Panama who had lost 4-nil to the US before winning their final game while the Bruce Arena-led Americans crumbled to a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Trinidad and Tobago.
The fan voiced out his dismay, quite funnily as to why the United States could not pick 11 “Mexicans” living in the US to represent them to pick a slot. He said, “the total number of people in Walmart right now is more than the entire population of Trinidad and Tobago.” The North Americans, Trinidad who were at the 2006 World Cup and were once coached by Nigerian, Adeboye Onigbinde have had former Manchester United midfielder Dwight Yorke and former Aston Villa goalkeeper, Shaka Hislop in their ranks. They are a nation with 1.3 million people according to the embittered American fan and he’s yet to stomach the defeat suffered by his country from the hands of a little nation like Trinidad and Tobago.
The fan further stripped himself off anything that had the badge of the US national football team and disposed them into the bin as he continued to show his disappointment at the US World Cup miss. The US first participated at the FIFA World Cup in 1950 and it took them another forty years before they had their second run-in at the Italia 90 World Cup.
Former Fulham star Clint Dempsey and former Everton loanee, Landon Donovan are their all-time top scorers with 57 goals apiece and former Roma midfield anchorman, Bob Bradley who now plays for FC Toronto is their team captain. Borussia Dortmund attacking midfield player, Pulisic is one of the hottest prospects in the team and is highly considered as the future of the USMNT.
