Afropop star, Yemi Alade, has signed a licencing deal with Universal Music France and Universal Music Africa.
The singer made the announcement on her Instagram handle on Monday.
In one of her posts, she wrote: “MY GOD IS ALWAYS ON TIME 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿@universalmusicafrica / @universalmusicfrance signs Licencing Deal with @effyzziemusicgroup for #Nigerian superstar @yemialade”.
This is coming after she featured on Beyonce’s album, The Lion King: The Gift and also became the first African female artist to reach one million subscribers on YouTube in July.
Under the multi-year agreement, UMA will serve as the exclusive worldwide recorded music partner for Yemi Alade and her label Effyzzie Music Group, and UMF will serve as the international roll-out partner for the project.
Earlier this year, Tiwa Savage who left Mavin Records after seven years with them, signed a record deal with US-based Universal Music Group.
