President Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign posters for the forthcoming 2019 Presidential election, has flooded major streets of Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
The posters were found at major roundabouts, the gate and perimeter fence of the Federal Medical Centre, located along Ali Akilu road, and other areas in the city, PUNCH reports.
The posters with the logo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) read, ‘Nigerians resolve Buhari 2019, after healing come greatness, just believe.’
Reacting to the development, some residents in Makurdi, the Benue state capital who were interviewed, expressed displeasure over the appearance of the posters, accusing the sponsors of mischief at the time the president is alleged to be seriously ill.
A middle-aged man who simply identified himself as Ogbole said, “I begin to ponder what manner of people Nigeria is made of, we are having an ailing president that needs our prayer but instead of this, the sponsors of the posters are making a mess of the issue.”
Similarly, another resident identified only as Tsugba, described the development as ‘unwarranted’, saying ‘what the president needs from Nigerians now is prayer for God to heal him, so as to have time to focus on the challenges facing the country’.
Meanwhile, the Presidency was yet to make any statement as regards President Buhari’s 2019 Presidential election campaign posters which has flooded major streets of Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
